No one is above the law! SA4SA Welcomes the dismissal of Minister Sisisi Tolashe

MEDIA STATEMENT

We acknowledge and welcome President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to dismiss Minister Sisisi Tolashe as Minister of Social Development, citing section 91(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.

In the view of South Africa for South Africans, this action comes after the Democratic Alliance’s call for Minister Tolashe’s removal, highlighting her failure to address critical social development issues and widespread reports of underperformance.

South Africans have expressed frustration with the Minister’s lack of progress in addressing poverty, unemployment, and inequality. The dismissal is seen as a response to these concerns.

SA4SA demands transparency and accountability in the appointment of a new Minister, ensuring the chosen candidate is committed to addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable South Africans. We also reiterate our call for the removal of Gwen Ramokgopa, citing similar concerns of ineptitude and corruption.

The people of South Africa deserve better. We urge President Ramaphosa to prioritize merit-based appointments and ensure those responsible for the country’s challenges are held accountable.
